Golfing Success

Posted Tuesday, March 31st, 2015

Thank you to all for making our 18th Annual Golf Outing a success.

We ended up having a gorgeous day for golf!  We would like to say a special thank you to all of our volunteers, donors and sponsors who made this day possible.

Because of you and all of our golfers and dinner attendees, we are able to help fund district project grants and Memorial grant scholarships aimed at enhancing and enriching educational opportunities for students.

The Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization which funds programs for School District 54 which are not covered by school budgets or tax dollars.

For more information on how you can support the Foundation or become a sponsor, donor or volunteer for our next golf outing, contact us at or (847) 352-0652.

15th Annual Golf Outing Raises $27,000 for D54 Schools

Posted Monday, August 6th, 2012

Threatening skies along with steamy temperatures did not hinder the 200 golfers participating in this signature event on June 11.
Participants enjoyed hole contests throughout the 27 holes at Schaumburg Golf Club, lunch grilling stations, a $10,000 putting contest, BBQ dinner buffet, silent auction and prizes.

Our sincere appreciation to title sponsor Manzardo & Associates, dinner sponsor Chik-fil-A of Schaumburg, and the many other loyal sponsors, donors, and volunteers enabling the success of this benefit.

Lego Learning

Posted Monday, April 9th, 2012

Thanks to a $10,000 Super Grant from the Foundation, students of Hoover Math and Science Academy (HMSA) are learning with Legos.  The grant help fund a Lego Robotics program that connected the elementary school with Schaumburg High School and Motorola.

A number of Motorola engineers have visited HMSA to talk to students about engineering and how this could be a possible future career.  Schaumburg High School staff have worked with their computer programming students to get them ready to be robotics facilitators and to work with our students.  Three HMSA sixth grade students were matched up with one Schaumburg High School Student and they collaborated to build and program a Lego Robot.  In future visits, the Schaumburg High School students will lead the HMSA teams through a “Green City Robotics Challenge.”  The teams will continue to build and program their robots to compete in a maze like challenge where teams accumulate various points based on the challenges they look to take on.  71 sixth graders, 27 Schaumburg High School Students, and 6 Motorola engineers involved so far.

The culminating activity will be a tour of Motorola headquarters in late May, where students will see the engineers in action.  It has been a terrific collaborative experience so far.

HMSA has passed along it thanks to Foundation volunteers, donors and members for their continued support and for making a positive difference on students!

The Schaumburg Township Elementary School Foundation funded $35,000 for grant programs to District 54 staff members.

Recipients were presented award certificates during the January 5th school board meeting. The unprecedented $10,000 Dennis P. Quinn Super Grant was awarded to a team of educators at Hoover Elementary School for their well-written proposal, “Robotics Collaboration with Schaumburg Saxons & Motorola Solutions all working together to push Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics forward”.

Other programs of focus included literacy, nutrition, health, fitness, environmental and home-school connections.  Funding of these grants is made possible by the Foundation’s signature events including Mardi Gras & Casino Night and our annual Golf Outing.
